Jumping Jellyfish! A Vow Renewal Ceremony for Batman and Robin at Wayne Manor Gardens

For a bit of fun, I have imagined a vow renewal service for one of fiction's most intrepid crime-fighting duos. I hope this will give you some inspiration for your own vows, whether you’re out tackling dastardly criminals or not. So Holy Mackerel dear reader, here’s how their vows might have gone – my apologies to the Caped Crusader’s creator, Grant Morrison.

Batman & Robin Vow Renewal

Welcome & Opening

Pamela (Celebrant) Good evening, everyone. My name is Pamela, and I have the honour of conducting this rather extraordinary ceremony for two of Gotham’s finest: Batman and Robin.
Marriage — or in your case, a lifelong partnership in every possible sense — is perhaps the greatest and most challenging adventure of all. It’s not only about fighting crime together but also about fighting for each other: to be present, to listen, to trust, and to share the triumphs and the trials side by side.
Batman and Robin, your bond is legendary. You’ve weathered countless storms — from the chill of Gotham’s rooftops to the heat of the Batmobile engine — and through it all, you’ve stood together. True love, like true justice, is not just a feeling but a commitment, renewed daily. They say good partnerships never stop growing. Like a fine vintage in the Wayne Manor cellar, your relationship has deepened, matured, and gathered richness with every passing year. Today, here in this beautiful garden, you’ve come to reaffirm the vows you made when you first became an unshakeable team.

A Look Back

When you met at your first daring rescue, a spark ignited. Over time, your partnership became more than capes and gadgets; it became a home in one another’s hearts. You’ve shared late nights under the Gotham skyline, adrenaline-fuelled chases, quiet moments in the Batcave, and victories both big and small. You’ve rescued each other — sometimes literally, sometimes emotionally — and you’ve never let go.

The Question

Do you wish to reaffirm the vows you took all those years ago?
Together We do.

Vows

Pamela Please repeat after me:

You are my greatest ally,

my truest friend,

and my one and only love.

I vow to stand by you,

in light and in shadow,

for all my days.

Pamela Batman, do you promise to continue to be Robin’s steadfast partner, to protect, to listen, to laugh, and to love, in every mission life brings?
Batman I do.
Pamela Robin, do you promise to continue to be Batman’s unwavering companion, to challenge, to support, to comfort, and to cherish, for every adventure yet to come?
Robin I do.

Together

For all these years,

you have been my safe place and my sidekick,

my reason and my risk.

I am honoured to spend the rest of my life with you.

Ring Exchange

From earliest times, the ring has been a symbol of an unbroken circle — just like the trust you’ve forged. Today, your rings are not just gifts, but reminders of every moment you’ve shared and every challenge you’ve overcome.

Handfasting

In the ancient Celtic tradition, the tying of hands signifies a binding union. Today, we bind not only your hands but your hearts, your missions, and your dreams.
Will you continue to protect one another, no matter the danger?
Together We will.
Will you keep your words and actions grounded in love?
Together We will.
Will you face the darkness together and always seek the light?
Together We will.

Pronouncement

Batman and Robin, having renewed your vows in the presence of those gathered here, I affirm that your legendary partnership — in love and in life — continues as strong as ever. And yes, Batman… you may kiss your partner in crime fighting.

Closing Blessing

May the dawn bring you hope after every long night. May the stars guide you when the path is unclear. May your shared laughter echo through every shadow. And may your love be your greatest superpower.
